Habits You Can Form That Will Boost Your Musical Creativity

Music is born with creativity, but creativity is built by these easy habits you can do every day.

When I do things, I’d like it to be easy. I know it sounds bad and lazy, but trust me; when you are so accustomed to making things easier for you in your daily life for almost everything, you won’t have a problem with almost everything in your life. One thing for sure, I love music but what I like the most about music lies in its simplicity that can make my day so effortlessly. One of the things I can tell you as an example is that whenever I look for music venue for hire, I know who to contact and what to do to make the venue fast booked. However, if you are a musician, being creative in the music world is a must, but sometimes it can become a problem too when you don’t feel like being creative. Don’t worry, in this article, I have summed up some no brainer habits you can form in order to boost your musical creativity. Keep reading this article to learn more!

It’s sad how many artists think that their only connection to creation is sorrow. I know that you can let your emotions flow and when you are in a deep sorrow you can create a music work, but please, try to look at the plight of some of the greats! You don’t need a torrid life of melancholy to receive inspiration – you simply need to be open to inspiration. Without further ado, let’s do this!

Start some warm ups

When I was in a choir club, we had this habit of running around the campus and even dancing before we start our singing practice. I don’t know how the teacher came up with that, but that’s what we did as a routine. Apparently, a routine like that can help you improve your breath and breath is one key element in singing. Well, while it looks like that, the truth is; you don’t really have to go that far for your practice. A simple warm up routine like walking (not running) on a treadmill, do some lips trills and squats in preparation for the tuba, or hum through some vocal exercises in a nice, warm shower. It’s as simple as that.

Eat healthy food

I know this sounds obvious, but eating the right kind of food can help you improve your vocal because well, what you eat gets through your throat, right? When you don’t eat healthy and you eat so much sweets, it will be bad for the throat and it will surely affect how your vocal sounds. Feed your mind and body with good grub. Too many carbs are magically delicious, but they will also slow you down. Try to have a balanced diet rich with nutrients and protein.

Take a break; it’s important!

Allow yourself time each day to escape your art. Zone out. Read a book. Watch a movie. Go sky diving. It really doesn’t matter as long as you are not pondering the next great chord progression. It’s okay to take a break from your musical activities in order to return, fully energized and feeling so brand new with creativity.

When it comes to music, inspirations do come anytime. However, sometimes we don’t realize how to fully make use of it. The point is; music is always on the move (and will always be), so you need to always learn something new in the process of creating music. Challenge yourself to learn new songs, techniques, and ideologies. Keep your routine from growing stale by continuously adding to your arsenal. If you do it that way with these easy but good habits, you will always be inn rhythm with your music creations and creativity.
