Do You Want to Know Who Has Blocked You on Facebook

Founded in February 2004, Facebook is currently the most popular and the largest social networking site with 1.23 billion monthly active users. It is not just a website meant for leisure time; rather it plays a pivotal role in the life of its users. A platform to stay connected with long distanced friends, a way to track the happenings in their life. However, the Facebook world of friendship is not always pleasant, as the virtual friendship can also get tense and your friends might boycott you by blocking you from reaching out to them.

Someone Has Blocked You, Does It Really Matter?

The online friend circle on Facebook means a lot to most of its users and ‘curiosity‘ is the most likely reason that has propagated the high popularity of Facebook. Curiosity to make new friends, curiosity to know what is happening in friends’ life, curiosity to stay connected with close and far off friends on daily basis. Just as a user gets curious towards making new friends, he or she also gets curious about knowing which of their old friends have blocked them. Although, knowing this will not bring any kind of happiness but a user would be excited to know who has blocked them so that at least they can figure out what went wrong.

However, for good reasons only, Facebook doesn’t have any such authorized mechanism to learn who has blocked you. Perhaps, Facebook has not included this feature because this knowledge can only dishearten the user who has been blocked. But yet users prefer knowing who all have blocked them. Taking advantage of this curiosity of the users, many third party applications have come into the picture. These applications are designed to intimate you when any of your friends block or de-friend you. But think twice before using these kinds of applications because they will scoop up information from your Facebook profile and messages to your private email address.

Nevertheless, if you are interested in learning who all have blocked you, there are some other techniques for this that can give a very close estimation but not a 100% guaranteed confirmation. Not all friends in your list can be important to you. For instance, your account might have 1000 and even more friends. There can be friends who you have just added but never interacted or there can be friends about whom you are not even aware that they do exist in your list.

You might not be bothered about all the friends in your list but if you doubt that some close and well known friends might have blocked you then you will definitely get curious about clearing your doubt.

Try out the following tips to find out who is no more interested in sharing their information with you:

How to Find Who Has Blocked You on Facebook?

  • The suspicion begins when you are not getting any post or update from a particular friend. The first and foremost thing is to quickly check your friend list to see if that friend is still listed in your list. If that individual is not appearing in your friend list and you are sure that once it was in your list and you have never de-friend or blocked that individual from your side than there are chances that you might have got blocked. But again it is not confirmed because if the person has deleted his account then also he will automatically get deleted from your friend list.
  • The person might have changed the profile name, so search again and try to find him by his or her profile picture. If you are not getting him then go to the general search of Facebook and type his name. If the search results show that person’s profile and yet it is not in your friend list that means you have been defriended by him but not blocked. You can resend the friend request.
  • But if the person is not even appearing in the search results, then probably you are blocked. But yet it is not confirmed because, if that friend has deactivated his or her account or has set privacy settings then also his/her profile won’t show up in search results.
  • Next you can try searching for that person after logging out of Facebook. Enter his name in the general search of the Facebook after you logged out of your account. Now, if the person’s profile is appearing in the search result then bingo, you have been surely blocked. But again, if the person’s profile is not appearing in the search results then try out the nest technique.
  • Go to the Google search engine and type the name of the person within quotation like “Kate Winslet.” Now search, see if the Facebook profile of that person is appearing in the search result. Now open a new tab and open Facebook site, log into your account and come back to the Google search. Now reenter your friend’s name with quotes and search. If the Google’s search results change, means that person’s profile is not appearing in the Google search results after you have logged into your Facebook account in the adjacent tab that means you have been blocked by that individual.
  • To reconfirm this you can try searching for that friend profile from other Facebook account of yours or any of your friends. If your suspect’s profile gets visible from other accounts but not from yours that confirms your blocked status.

But if your concerned friend is not getting traced from any account, not even his Facebook profile is appearing in the Google search results, then most likely he or she has de-activated his or her account. You can reconfirm this by asking your common friends if they have heard from that concerned friend recently.
