The benefit of doing this is that it will keep you focused more on what you should eat, rather than what is readily available to you. My advice is to get rid of anything that contains gluten because keeping things like this will only make the transition difficult on you.
Once you have cleared out your house of all gluten products, it is then time to restock the shelves. This may sound simple and easy, but there is some work that goes into this. When restocking your shelves it is imperative that you only buy gluten free products. Some of the items that you should buy are fresh fruits, vegetables, and meats. My suggestion to you is to only buy enough food to last 1 week. Buying more food than this will cause you to buy packaged items, which could contain gluten.
To recap, at this point you will have all the gluten out of your house and new healthier options in. This is the time that you need to spend putting together a small plan of what you will have to eat for each meal of the week. By creating a plan you can then prepare those meals beforehand and just reheat them. By doing this you will not only save time during the day, but you will save money and ensure that you stick to your new gluten free diet. Most people forget this step and that is part of the reason why they can’t stick to a 100% gluten free diet. Trust me, preparing your meals a day or few days early can really make the difference.

By going to these restaurants that have menus already in place you can be assured that the chefs understand what gluten is and how it can effect somebody with a gluten sensitivity.
Something you need to understand is that gluten will probably not kill you, but some of the symptoms that you will experience if you do eat gluten can be extremely uncomfortable. You will experience abdominal pain, bloating, and probably headaches, but that will be about it. Eating gluten free will take some time to get used to, but once you know which foods you can consume, it will make your life much easier.
Having a plan for eating gluten free is a must, don’t just wing it. Take a few minutes, sit down and do some research on some of the foods that you can eat. By doing this you can create a list of all the meals you find enjoyable and then create a list of ingredients you need to make those meals. Again, planning is everything when it comes to going gluten free, so make sure you plan every meal beforehand and you should have no problems in the future.
