Mazda does it again. Arguably the most innovative and progressive automaker in the world once again shows its trailblazing form by making the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata available for test drive on the Xbox One gaming console. For the first time ever, buyers will be able to get a sneak peak at the all-new redesigned auto in the comfort of their own home. Players can download the car for free on the game Forza Horizon 2, and, through the Time Trials Rivals Contest, one lucky gamer can actually win a 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata, months before its official release.

Although buyers will have to wait, since the vehicle won’t be available for purchase till later this year, car enthusiasts and buyers alike already have the opportunity to test drive it on the Xbox One gaming console. The free download became available on March 17. Not only can gamers get a feel for the all-new Miata’s handling, they can also take a moment to explore the interior and exterior details of the new model.

In addition to the fact that Forza Horizon 2 gamers have a chance to test drive the new model, there will also be other Miatas available to download. The Car Pack will consist of the 2016 MX-5, the 1990 MX-5, the 2005 Mazdaspeed MX-5 and the 2010 MX-5 Super20 SEMA Concept Car. Gamers interested in downloading the pack should log into their Xbox Live accounts on their consoles, and find access to the Mazda landing page, where the car pack will be located.

Anyone who has kept up with the ongoing trends in the auto industry can’t possibly downplay the significance of the MX-5 Miata. While the popularity of many other cars has come and gone, the Miata has remained the best-selling two door roadster of all time. For years, generation after generation of car enthusiasts have flocked to the small roadster. It indeed has gained a cult following, known for its superb handling, styling and legendary motor. The latest MX-5 Miata continues the tradition in proud fashion. Not only is it faster, it is also the most technologically advanced Miata ever produced.

At the forefront of the advancements for the new MX-5 Miata are an exciting attention to detail in the weight category. This new model is in fact approximately 150 pounds lighter than the previous model. Due to major breakthroughs in Skyactive technology, Mazda’s engineers had to pay special attention to the minutest details.

The new model also sports a brand new body. The vehicle has been completely restyled, so that although it has the trademark MX-5 shape, the body has an all new, more aerodynamic look.

Gamers will have an opportunity to take one of the new models home in the Time Trial Contest. The competition, which began on Tuesday, March 17 and runs through Thursday, April 30, will test the driving abilities of gamers, Miata fans and enthusiasts.

Anyone interested in entering the contest should log into their Xbox Live accounts and find their way to the Music, Movies, Games and Apps Channels. Once they are logged in, they should see an advertisement for the brand new MX-5, and should click into the ad landing experience. Once in, they can then register, and enter the contest. Players interested in winning will then be required to play in the Rival Mode using the new model from the MX-5 Car Pack.

The race will be held at the Sisteron Perimeter Sprint Track. Although many are sure to enter, the two drivers with the best times will be selected to compete against each other in Los Angeles in June. The driver with the best time will drive home in an all-new MX-5 Miata.
