Benefits of Buying or Hiring Linen

For many businesses the hiring of linen makes a lot more sense than buying the materials themselves. Of course, there are many advantages to buying linen which make the investment worthwhile for your brand.

Choice:

The choice of styles that you can choose from when buying linen is far wider than you may get from rental companies. You can truly get something to fit in with your brand, whether it is through colours or patterns, or embroidering items such as towels, bathrobes or napkins with your logo.

The idea of renting linen does appeal to a lot of businesses, and for very apt and understandable reasons. For example, if you own a business where the linen is only used a few times a year, or only over a short period of the year, then buying linen makes very little sense in this instance.

The high cost of the layout may be something that is only recouped over years of people staying in your hotel. This often means that there is little sense in paying a high sum of money, when you can rent for a couple of hundred pounds each year.

Quality:

It does depend on your business though. The quality of the linen from rental companies is often a little lower than the quality of linen you would purchase yourself. Of course, for the rental company this makes economic sense, but may not be suitable for all businesses.

Hotels and other businesses may want to be able to pick their own linen as it allows them the opportunity to choose the colour, style and quality they would prefer. This means that the linen can fit in with their brand and is part of who they are. High-end hotels would probably prefer to have the reassurance of picking the highest quality linen, and also perhaps to have the option to launder it themselves. This is a great option if you’re concerned about having the most control over quality.

Economical:

Some restaurants are seasonal, some restaurants don’t have to overly impress with their linen and some restaurants find it economically lower in price to rent linen. On the other hand rented linen maybe something that other businesses really don’t take to at all and is far from the brand’s image or an image they would like portray – it depends on the individual and what they feel is fit and suitable.

If you want complete control of your linen in terms of quality, style and use it all year round – buy it. However, take time to do the calculations. If it’s economically suitable to opt for rented linen, then it’s the right choice for you. Ultimately, you should think what is best for your business.
