Valletta is well known in all over the world as the capital of Malta. It is a small town having an area less than a square kilometer. This well developed small town preserves plenty of centuries-old monuments, a great many popular tourist attractions and a wide-spread lush green vegetation. Valletta has a great number of car rental companies which provide rented cars at very low costs to the tourists who come from different corners of the world.

This small town abounds in the fortresses which were built in the 15th century. It has been named after Jean Parisot de Valletta. The groundwork of the city had begun in 1556 by the Jean Parisot de Valletta. It was built in order of the St. John to reminisce the impressing victory of Jean Parisot de Valletta against the Ottoman.

This 16th century old city features neoclassical style and modern architectures. Although during the world war II, it had received serious damages, yet has been recognized as one of the famous world heritage sites by the UNESCO since 1980.

Some of the most popular tourist attractions in Valletta are St. John Co-Cathedral, the National museum of fine arts and the national museum of archeology etc.

St. John Co Cathedral : It is one of the impressing sites in Valletta which was built by the Maltese architect Gerlamo Cassar. The Interior of the Cathedral was designed excellently by the Italian artisan Matteo Pretti. It took a long five-year for completion. This 16th century old cathedral gives shelter to a large number of artistic works. The most exciting among them is beheading of the St. John which retains the signature of the painter. The magnificent St. John Co cathedral houses to many well designed mausoleums of many genius people who were interred here.

National Museum of Archeology : The Auberge Provence building hosts the National museum of archeology, which showcases a good collection of many interesting historic artifacts. It is surmised that this building was built in 1571 by the distinguished architect Gerlamo Cessar. The objective behind built of this building was to accommodate the Knights. The building has a well decorated grand salon on its ground floor, which was used by the knights for important discussions.

The building was inaugurated in 1958 by Agatha Barbara as a national museum. Initially, all the archeological collections were on the ground floor and the fine art collections were on the 1st floor. But in 1998, all the art works were shifted to the national arts museum and the building was renamed as the National Archeological Museum.

Manoel Theatre : It is one of the ravishing baroque which have been acknowledged by the tourists. The enthralling baroque has been hosting the well known national theater since last 300 years.
