When My Girl Gang Took Over Sydney

Read further to know about the short trip I took to catch up with my girl gang in Sydney…

When the stars aligned and all three of my gal pals’ schedules finally cleared up, we decided to go somewhere to catch up with each other. After carefully considering a number of potential destinations, we all agreed to go to Sydney. We wanted a sunny beach vacation and that is exactly what we got. Allow me to give you a glimpse of our best Aussie memories and introduce you to the magic we discovered in Sydney.

A lot of beach fun

The first thing that comes to my mind when I think about our time spent in Sydney is a picture of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. Sunbathing with my friends on the golden sand of Bondi Beach with the vast ocean before us, laughing at everything silly and serious, is a memory I will cherish forever. It was a truly magical experience to spot a few dolphins frolicking in the distance when we went swimming. My phone gallery full of tranquil turquoise ocean photos can vouch for the beauty that Sydney is!

The glorious Sydney Harbour sights

The world-renowned Sydney Harbour was a spot that we visited every other day. We checked out cute cafes and explored different cuisines at different restaurants. One day we even dined on one of the best dinner cruises on Sydney Harbour. With a great view of the iconic attractions, we devoured delicious food and enjoyed excellent onboard entertainment.

The Rocks tour

The guided tour of the Rocks was a memorable experience. By the time the walk came to an end, we had learnt so much about the rich history of Sydney. The Opera House looked as stunning up-close as it had looked from the cruise. The best part for me was the Museum of Contemporary Art. I was immensely inspired by the great collection.

One of my friends wanted to do something exhilarating, something that gave her a nice adrenaline rush. So, she signed up to climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The idea seemed a tad bit crazy for the rest of us, but she had great fun. According to her, the bird’s-eye view she got from the top was worth everything.

Shopping and bar hopping

We went crazy in the Rocks market, trying on this and that, and collecting beautiful souvenirs to give to friends and family. Munching on some yummy snacks, we went from one stall to another. Everything that I picked up from there is truly special to me.

Tired from all the shopping, we all agreed that we needed a drink. Maybe more than one. As we set out to explore the bars nearby, we’d spend a good amount of time at one bar, down a drink or two, and then move on to another. It was great fun tipsy dancing to the melody a street performer sang for us. Memories for a lifetime!

All of us had wildly contrasting personalities, but Sydney had something that tied us closer together. That’s probably the Magic of Sydney!
