How To Do Screen Mirroring (Cast Screen) In Honor

There are two ways to do screen mirroring.

What is Screen Mirroring?

Screen Mirroring is a feature that allows you to cast your phone on computer or television. Therefore, you can project movies, videos, pictures, and gameplay on a bigger screen.

There are two ways to do screen mirroring.

One is to using HDMI cables which stands for the high-definition multimedia interface, supports the connection between a device such as a Blu-ray player or cable box and a flat-screen HDTV or projector.

The other is a wireless technology -- Miracast. It is a standard for connecting smart devices (such as laptops and smartphones) to displays (such as TVs, monitors, and projectors) wirelessly through Wi-Fi. Miracast is already supported on Windows 8.1 and 10 as well as Android 4.2 and later. The latest Smart TVs with Wi-Fi enabled later than 2014 should have the feature already integrated. But if your TV doesn't support Miracast, then you need to buy an external Miracast dongle.

As a wireless solution, Miracast is quite a useful tool to have around.

How to cast HONOR phone screen on TV?

On HONOR 8X, for example. Like other HONOR devices, the HONOR 8X comes with the popular feature called MirrorShare. It is Huawei default wireless screen mirroring app.

Note that before you begin casting, connect your phone to a Wi-Fi network. And make sure the TV/STB (Set Top Box) support Miracast and has connected to the same wireless Wi-Fi.

Then follow the steps to successfully cast your screen:

1. Enable screen share on your Smart TV's Input menu.

Remote control -> Menu button -> Network -> AllShare Settings -> Screen Mirroring

2. Enable MirrorShare on HONOR 8X.

Shortcuts panel -> MirrorShare or Settings -> Device connection -> MirrorShare

3. Once your source has been detected, tap on it and wait for the connection to be established.

4. You can now cast videos, movies and TV shows directly to your TV.

5. To stop casting, just tap disconnect.
