The Monkey Sanctuary in Looe provides a fun and educational day out for young and old alike. The Monkey Sanctuary Trust educates visitors about monkey life in the wild and also in captivity. The Sanctuary is currently home to four species of monkey - enjoy watching these beautiful and fascinating creatures (each has their own personality!) while learning about welfare and conservation at the same time.

Carnglaze Caverns consists of three underground caverns set in 6.5 acres of land in the Loveny Valley at St Neot, near Liskeard. Tours are available through the three magnificent caverns (which were hand created by local slate miners) - a truly awe inspiring experience! Within the complex is the famous subterranean lake with its crystal clear blue/green water.

Looking for a traditional day out at the seaside - Talland Bay is highly recommended. One of the most unspoiled coastlines in the country, small beaches can be found here with many rock pools to be investigtated during low tide - a magical day out for all the family.

Enjoy a stroll around Looe’s picturesque harbour which is the hub of the town. It is home to numerous commercial fishing vessels as well as boats used for pleasure trips. Almost daily, it is possible to watch the fish being landed and auctioned at the fish market on the quay. There are many excellent restaurants serving local produce as well as cafes and tearooms where you can take a traditional Cornish cream tea.

Porfell Wildlife Park and Sanctuary is home to domestic and exotic animals - families can enjoy close contact with deer, zebras, snakes, wallabies and many more. In addition there is a children’s farm where youngsters can meet rabbits, guinea pigs, goats, sheep and donkeys.

The Old Guildhall Museum in Looe exhibits artefacts and photographs showing the history of Looe as a fishing port. The museum is housed in a 16th century courthouse and the original bench can still be seen.
