Convenience of Artificial flowers

Flowers are symbol of beauty and love and they are used in almost all types of occasions whether it be a wedding or a funeral.

The origin of artificial flowers can be traced back to around the late 1600’s by some scripture of the Old Testament. Flower making is an art and these flowers can be made by numerous materials in countless ways. The flowers made by expert flower makers are extraordinarily close to real and it is very difficult to distinguish between them.

Flowers are usually used in interior decoration, ceremonies or presented as gesture of love and happiness to people in time of their joy. Artificial flowers have over the past couple of years made their significant place in the market place and the precision of detail and quality used in their manufacturing has made them very popular. Looking at the usability of artificial flowers in terms of their easy maintenance has effectively attracted today’s practical generation. Unlike the artificial flowers the real flowers have to be looked after and watered daily which is a very time consuming and sometimes messy process. The transportation of these flowers is also easier as they are extremely light weight and also more sturdy compared to the real ones.

Especially in occasions where a large amount of flowers are generally required for decoration purposes, people tend to go for artificial flowers as they are easier to manage unlike real flowers which are very delicate and wilt easily. Also their reusability is what makes them more popular, artificial flowers can be stored to be used on any other occasion which gives it quite an edge over the real flowers whose life span is nothing as compared to the artificial ones.  The art of flower making is improving day by day like every other technology and the degree of these flowers accuracy is amazing.

The artificial flowers are also scented to give the most realistic effect and the scents are also available separately for replenishing it after it effect ends. Interior decorators also find these flowers very functional as it helps give a permanent look to the décor.

At the moment China is the biggest producer of artificial flowers using mainly silk as raw material. Another chapter was added to the history of artificial flowers by two German glass artists who also happened to be father and son, Leopold and Rudolph Blaschka when they made exact replica’s of 830 different plants especially flowers. These glass flowers are on display at the Harvard Botanical Museum all the year round. These flowers were made over a span of 5 decades on the request of a professor of Harvard who wanted to make the study of Botany as accurate as possible. The view of such a diverse collection of flowers which look not a degree less than real at the same place all the year round whether it be winter or autumn gives a very spellbinding impression to the eyes of the observer.
