Warts’n All! Remove or Keep As a Villain Badge of Honour?

There are many different types of warts, all of which have one thing in common. The appearance of warts is due to the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). It is highly contagious and spread throughout the infected skin from one person to another through touch. They are more common with children and a big portion of them are with hard surface with a tiny black dot in the middle.

There are many types of warts, such as common warts, plane warts, seborrhoeic warts, filiform warts and verrucas and can spread throughout the whole body, appearing one at a time or in clusters. Another feature that makes them so odious is that they are quite persistent and might disappear and appear on another part of the skin. With children, in 90 % of the cases, it could take between 6 months and 2 years for the virus to disappear.

Wart treatment depends on their classification, for example, common wart removal can be done with a small electrolysis needle. It is used over the infected area to cauterize the surface layer of the wart and then the little electrolysis needle is inserted in the area to finish the treatment. After the wart removal procedure is complete the lesion will form a scab and then the dead skin will fall away leaving unblemished skin on the spot where the wart once was.
