How Motorcycle Accessories Have Changed Lady Bikers

As more women are taking to the road, motorcycle accessory companies have started to take them more seriously, and have realized that they are as valid a customer as any man. It is a sign of how seriously they take the new market, that they have started to design accessories which have women as the main focus.

As more women are taking to the road, motorcycle accessory companies have started to take them more seriously, and have realized that they are as valid a customer as any man. It is a sign of how seriously they take the new market, that they have started to design accessories which have women as the main focus. Accessory companies have been making different sizes available for quite a while; but now other things are starting to appear to improve riding conditions, and safety, for women. Below are a few things that show that change is taking place.

Helmets

When my wife bought her first helmet, we shopped around for days, visiting a lot of motorcycle accessory outlets. Eventually, she bought one that was not her ideal, but it suited her purpose. Now, if she wants a helmet, she is as spoiled for choice as me; in fact, she has more choice. As well as the colors and designs that have appeared for women, they also have helmets that will help them keep their hair neat and presentable. I don't remember ponytailed men having the option of a helmet to accommodate their hairstyle, but this shows you the power that female motorcyclists now wield. The change in design to fit the female head has made life safer for women, as well as more comfortable.

Body Armour

This is an area that the improvement for women was long overdue, but has finally been addressed. Badly fitting, uncomfortable protection is a very bad idea. Lots of bikers have bought such items, only for them to be forgotten in a cupboard, and women were especially prone to forgetfulness because of their body shape. Simply buying a small size was never going to work, and the shapes of protective vests and back protection have had to change. Shorter, tapered versions are now available, and afford much better protection and comfort.

Fashion Accessories

Male bikers have always been fashion conscious, even though they would disagree. Any motorcycle shop you visit will have different designs of helmets, jackets, and boots, along with bandanas, wrist straps, and sunglasses for men. Now, specific accessories are aimed at making ladies feel good while riding. If a female biker wants to look a bit more feminine, the use of Gore-tex has made that easily achievable; clothing is now available in different styles to the usual leathers, and clumpy protective wear.  Tank bags and hip purses are becoming gender specific, as they are designed with different sexes' needs in mind. Whether you want something that is going to care for your hair, or will accommodate the higher heels available on women's motorcycle boots, there will be something to suit the ladies.

Now that women are being catered to in the way they are, it could even mean that men who wanted to have a motorcycle in the past, will now be allowed to. If their partner sees that a motorcycle can be as much fun for them, they may actually be the first to buy one; and more power to them if they do. Riding a motorcycle is now the domain of both sexes, and whichever sex you are; you should have access to the right accessories.

Live up your bike ride with some cool ladies' motorcycle boots, that are comfortable as well as trendy. Total Motorcycle Accessories is one such professional company, supplying a huge range of accessories to choose from.
