Over 45 years ago, the Dodge “Scat Pack Club” united car enthusiasts who wished to push their cars to the max. Now a new generation of Dodge owners will be able to join the legendary ranks of Scat Pack members starting in the spring of 2014. This is when Dodge and Mopar will unveil Dodge Scat package kits for the 2014 models of the Dodge Challenger, Charger and Dart. Even though the prices have not yet been determined, Scat package kits are already announced for three stage levels so car owners can improve upon their cars at their own pace and in their own way.

Once purchased, the kit includes a window badge to proudly display the performance stage. This allows people to share and connect with fellow Scat Pack members more easily and also to demonstrate a commitment to excellence in the Dodge car. After all, the Dodge Scat package kits are meant to be more than just a way of enhancing one’s wheels; they are a way of uniting Dodge power car enthusiasts into a special club.

The Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger come with very similar performance packages on all three stages. They start small, with adjustments to boost power through the engine calibration settings, changing the cold air intake, and adding different exhaust systems as well. Once owners reach the second stage the set-up gets even better, allowing people to change the performance camshaft and recalibrate the engine for better speed and performance. The changes continue up until the third stage, which features three times the engine power, and other extras.

Visually, the Challenger and Charger also have very similar enhancements with the Scat Pack and Mopar add-ons. At the 2013 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas both cars with the upgrades were on display. The end results look as cool as the performance. Changes to the Charger include new 20 x 9-inch lightweight wheels, Mopar center caps, and a side valence, a Redline rear spoiler and a new front splitter. The Challenger brought a luxurious and stylish interior and exterior. To the exterior were a black concept hood and side valance, black hood pins, and tail lamps. On the inside were leather seats, black leather inserts with Dodge stripes and other smaller changes such as black trim on the steering wheel, center stack, console and door handles.

The 2014 Dodge Dart has a 184 horsepower 2.4-liter Tigershark engine with six-speed manual transmission and the Dodge Scat package kit as well. The car is geared towards performance and handling at the highest level for the best results. Black and red accents line the inside of the SEMA model, giving it a visual sharpness to coincide with its performance strengths.

Also like the Challenger and Charger, the Dart scat package comes at three levels, with each performance adjustment building upon the ones below. The level one changes work at the basics with improvements to the cold air intake systems, the brakes, and the short throw shifter. After starting out with those adjustments more are added for the exhaust and calibration settings, and by level three car owners can work with their braking, suspension and upgrade the front and rear sway bars.

Changes to the Dodge line-up of the Challenger, Charger and Dart will become easier than ever for many decades with the return of the Dodge scat pack kits for its high end performance enthusiasts. This return of a legendary club honors the legacy of the original Scat Pack and offers a new opportunity to join for many young drivers.
