So You've Got Your Concert Ticket! Now What?

So you've got your concert ticket! Now what? Here's what you need to know.

For a forever-beginner like me, getting a concert ticket does not mean my worries stop right here, right there. Perfectionist yet old-fashioned, I always find myself struggling with keeping up with the latest trends and technology. This makes me very dependent of my friends when it comes to travelling, let alone attending concerts. However, when I was looking for Melbourne entertainment venues during my stay there, I learned many things that made me know the most important things when attending a concert. I may not be a pro concert goer, but at least I will never forget what I should do after I get my concert ticket. If this story is completely relatable to you, then you should keep reading this to learn more!

Set a budget and prepare for everything

You think once you have purchased and earned your ticket, you wouldn’t have to spend another money on another stuff? If you thought that way, you were so wrong. There will be things besides your concert-related stuff that you might need – food, drinks, gas, parking, merchandise, a new outfit. Try to estimate your costs ahead of time so you can set aside some dough.

Listen to your favourite band’s songs

The exciting part of going to a concert is the part where you get to sing with your favourite band. However, what’s the fun in that if you don’t even know their songs let alone the lyrics? Listen to their songs and sing the songs when you are in the shower (or everywhere that is comfortable for you) – you might need this for the special day. Make sure you do it at least two weeks before the show.

Plan for the outfit you want to wear

You might want to look good on your happy day (especially when you are going to see your favourite band); therefore, you need to plan it at least three days before the day. That being said, I would not recommend wearing too glamourous outfit for the concert. I mean, you are going to be in a crowded place, full of people and stuff – you need fresh air. I recommend wearing comfortable T-shirt and bringing an extra T-shirt as well (Trust me, you’re going to need it). Since concert place is usually crowded, of course you will not be too comfortable with the temperature. Therefore, bringing an extra T-shirt is the best way to save your day.

Prepare for the list of the stuff you want to bring with you for the concert

Aside from an extra T-shirt, you might need anything else. You may need mineral water, a portable charger, and of course cash. While cashless payments are the ‘it’ in this modern era, not many merchant accept cashless payments. Therefore, bringing cash is the right way to enjoy your night to the fullest.

I know going to a concert alone may be scary at first, but you have to get through the experience first. Once you are used to going alone, you may not have to worry about missing things out on your first concert experience.
